About
About Climate-Edu
The Climate-Edu.gr platform is an open-access digital educational platform of the National Observatory of Athens, dedicated to the development and dissemination of educational content in the fields of Climate, Atmosphere, Earth Observation, and the Copernicus programme services. The platform is developed and operated by the NOA-ReACT team of the National Observatory of Athens, with the aim of serving as a permanent reference point for education and capacity building in the use of Earth Observation data, services, and applications.
By combining scientific data, satellite observations, Copernicus programme services, and interactive tools, the Learning Hub brings together high-quality educational content and learning experiences tailored to the needs of modern education and lifelong learning.
Building on the ecosystem of the National Observatory of Athens’ two Information Hubs, ClimateHub and AtmoHub, the platform aggregates educational material aligned with academic curricula and lifelong learning needs, targeting university students, secondary education students, educators, public sector professionals, and any interested citizen.
Through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, online courses (MOOCs), summer schools, workshops, and events, the Climate-Edu Learning Hub strengthens climate and environmental literacy, fosters skills in the use of Earth Observation data and services, and promotes evidence-based decision-making grounded in scientific data.
Vision & Mission
Vision
The vision of Climate-Edu is to become the reference point in Greece for education in the fields of Climate, Atmosphere, Earth Observation, and the Copernicus programme services. Through the development of an open and continuously evolving learning ecosystem, it aims to create a national network of collaboration among academic institutions, research organizations, educators, public authorities, and society at large, contributing to the formation of a new generation of citizens and professionals with strong climate and environmental literacy.
Mission
The mission of Climate-Edu is to bridge scientific knowledge with education by transforming Earth Observation data, services, and applications into modern learning experiences. At the same time, it serves as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, supporting the development of a national network for Climate Change Education and strengthening cooperation between the academic community, educators, public authorities, and society. Through open educational resources, innovative initiatives, and modern digital tools, it promotes lifelong learning, develops data literacy skills, and supports evidence-based decision-making grounded in scientific data.

ClimateHub/Atmohub Connection
Climate-Edu.gr is built upon the ecosystem of the two Information Hubs of the National Observatory of Athens, ClimateHub and AtmoHub.
These two hubs serve as the National Collaboration Programmes (NCP) implemented by NOA for the European Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), respectively. They act as the entry point of these services in Greece, providing researchers, institutions, and citizens with access to high-quality scientific data, tools, and services related to climate and atmosphere.
The NOA-ReACT team designs and operates ClimateHub, AtmoHub, and Climate-Edu, ensuring that all educational programmes are grounded in the same scientific infrastructure and expertise. This connection enables Climate-Edu to transform data and services from both hubs into learning material, bringing climate and atmospheric science closer to students, educators, public sector professionals, and citizens.
